Forfeiture Law and The Proceeds of Crime

Forfeiture law has a long history and its more recent evolvement has been quite dynamic and will continue so. It has been described by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia as a global phenomenon. The introduction of forfeiture legislation has provided Governments, world wide, not only with an important tool to combat serious crime but also presents an important revenue raiser.
